Dr. Vinayak "Vin" Thakur, MD is a board certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist who was born and raised in New Jersey. In his early college years, he was selected to attend medical school as part of a coveted accelerated program at Rutgers medical school, allowing him to graduate college a year early. He then completed internship in Philadelphia, radiology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and finally fellowship in interventional radiology at Miami Cardiovascular Institute.

He is passionate about treating the underserved population and teaching, having gone to Tanzania three times to help train the first interventional radiologists in sub-saharan Africa. He was happy to be able to introduce a radial approach for patient's to recover more easily after uterine fibroid embolization procedures in the country’s national hospital. He has relished being able to carry out complex procedures in this low-resource setting. It is from this experience that he hopes to create practical solutions for patients with sometimes complex problems.
