Dr. Carson became committed to the fight against uterine fibroids and empowering women through treatment after seeing a lack of awareness and access to solutions to fibroids for the women in his family. Upon learning of a nonsurgical breakthrough known as uterine fibroid embolization, Dr. Carson became one of the first doctors to perform the procedure in the Southern Crescent. As a result, Dr. Carson was named a top doctor by the staff and physicians at Southern Regional Medical Center in 2005.
He and his medical partner, Dr. Sendhil Subramanian, have created a state-of-the-art facility designed specifically for women suffering from fibroids. The gratitude of his patients, he says, proves to be the most rewarding aspect of his career.
