Dr. Makris is board certified in diagnostic radiology as well as vascular and interventional radiology. He has authored multiple articles relating to vascular and interventional radiology that have been published in many prominent medical journals. In addition, Dr. Makris also ran a course for the Radiologic Society of North America, teaching the techniques of ultrasound guidance to other radiologists. Dr. Makris then joined Midwest Heart Specialists, where he worked in a clinical practice as a peripheral vascular specialist. Among his accomplishments, he has been an investigator on multiple industry sponsored trials related to peripheral vascular disease. In addition, he is a proctor teaching other physicians endovascular techniques related to carotid artery stenting, abdominal aortic aneurysms and venous ablation.
Dr. Makris continues to be thought leader on the forefront of endovascular techniques and is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
